A pretty amazing thing happened on my birthday.  Jessica and Mike had called me the day before and told me they were headed to the hospital for their labor induction.  I assumed I would get the call in the middle of the evening or possibly in the wee hours of the morning.  However, poor Jessica ended up in labor for about a lot longer than they had anticipated.  When Mike texted me to tell me she had finally reached a point where I should head to Portsmouth I was more than ready to get there.  I literally jumped in my car and go to the hospital in 15 minutes.  Miss Layla beat me there.  Once she decided she was ready she wasn't waiting for anyone.   So into the world she came on my birthday.  I was thankful she waited until I had a lovely dinner with my own precious daughter but also so honored to get to be one of the first to welcome her into the world.  Here are a few pictures from that day.
